Park City Skiing FAQ

The skis you rent can have a big impact on your ski trip. If you're new to skiing, then make sure to pick a beginner-friendly option like our Sport ski rentals. Skiers who have a bike more experience should consider our High Performance rentals, which are quality production models from brands we carry. Choose from carving, all-mountain, and powder options depending on conditions.

Sport and High Performance ski rentals are designed for different ability levels and skiing styles. Sport skis are more forgiving and easier to control, making them a great choice for beginner to intermediate skiers who are building confidence on groomed runs. High Performance skis are more responsive and stable at higher speeds, making them better suited for strong intermediate and advanced skiers who enjoy carving, skiing steeper terrain, or venturing into powder. Choosing skis that match your ability will help you have a more enjoyable day on the mountain.

Demo skis are a great option if you're thinking about buying a new pair. Ski reviews and recommendations can help narrow your choices, but there's no substitute for skiing the exact model yourself. Our Experts can help you choose a few skis that match your ability, preferred terrain, and skiing style, so you can compare them on the mountain. If you decide to purchase new skis, we'll even apply up to three days of demo fees toward your purchase.

The best time to visit Park City for skiing is from late December through March, when snow conditions are typically at their best and all three resorts are fully operating. January and February usually offer the most consistent snow, while March often combines excellent skiing with longer days and milder temperatures. If you're planning around holidays, expect larger crowds during Christmas, New Year's, and Presidents Day weekend. Visiting midweek whenever possible can mean shorter lift lines and a more relaxed experience on the mountain.

Deer Valley and Park City each offer a different skiing experience. Deer Valley is a ski-only resort known for its meticulously groomed runs, upscale amenities, and limited daily lift ticket sales, creating a quieter on-mountain experience. Park City offers one of the largest ski areas in the country, with a wide variety of terrain, from beginner runs to bowls, terrain parks, and glades. If you're deciding between the two, Deer Valley is a great choice for skiers seeking exceptional grooming and service, while Park City offers more terrain and variety for skiers looking to explore all day.
