The Revolt 104 is fun to ski in any conditions. It has tons of stability at speed - more than you'd expect from the almost twin-tipped profile. The generous tail splay makes them more slarvy than the Revolts with a flat-tail profile, but very little is sacrificed in terms of control at the top speed. The sandwich construction and wood core strikes the ideal balance between damp and lively. There is something about wood-core skis that I've grown to appreciate the more I test other types of ski construction with fiber glass or carbon fiber. The wood-core skis have a certain energy that just feels more genuine.

Intended for aggressive on-piste and racing use, Volkl’s Multilayer Woodcore features a sidewall that’s laminated to extremely stable layers of wood on the sides of the sandwich core. The hardwood immediately adjacent to the sidewall delivers higher power transmission, improves edge grip, and supports the edge against external forces. The softer wood in the middle of the ski brings more agility and maneuverability and reduces overall ski weight.
