RECCO®
RECCO® Rescue System is a two-part technology. Ski resorts and mountain rescue teams carry RECCO® detectors, which send out a search signal. RECCO® reflectors worn in clothing bounce back a directional signal that directs the rescuer straight to the reflector. Unlike other technologies, multiple RECCO® reflectors on a person can improve detection.
Helly Tech® Professional
Helly Tech Professional is Helly Hansen’s extremely waterproof and extra-breathable outer layer specifically designed for highly aerobic, extremely wet or unusually long-lasting activities in extremely harsh conditions.
PFC-Free Durable Water Repellent (DWR)
Like standard DWR, PFC-free DWR is a fabric treatment that improves the water-repellency of the outer layer of the material while maintaining its breathability—but without PFCs (perfluorinated chemicals). PFCs decompose slowly and negatively impact the environment. According to the EPA, PFCs also harm human and animal health, and they can be ingested through air, water, and food.
Life Pocket™
Built with thermal-resistant materials, the Helly Hansen Life Pocket™ stays two times warmer than a normal ski jacket pocket, which helps keep phones alive longer.
bluesign®
bluesign® technologies, based in Switzerland, works at each step in the textile supply chain to approve chemicals, processes, materials, and products that are safe for the environment, safe for workers, and safe for the end customers. Any fabric that’s bluesign® approved offers the highest level of consumer safety by employing methods and materials in their manufacture that conserve resources and minimize impacts on people and the environment.
