The Montero AR is the wider option in Stockli's frontside all-mountain line, blending the playfulness of the Montero AX with the stability of a giant slalom racing ski. A lightweight wood core made from poplar and beech delivers the ideal balance between weight savings and performance. Tip and Tail Flex technology uses precisely mapped cutouts in the tips and tails to produce a softer, more supple flex that gives the AR a playful character. An All Mountain Rocker profile features tip and tail rocker for easy turn initiation and versatility in varied terrain, while camber underfoot gives you the carving performance you expect from a Stockli. The result is very quick and nimble edge-to-edge transitions and the ability to carry your arc through the entire turn with confidence. Its 84 mm waist underfoot is wider than the Montero AX and the shape difference yields a longer turn radius. That extra width also helps with versatility in varied snow and different kinds of terrain, so you won't have to sacrifice carving performance for being able to explore the whole mountain. And when you want to step on the gas, this ski is FAST and incredibly stable at high speeds. Discerning skiers in search of a solid, stable all-mountain carver, the Stockli Montero AR is your perfect match.

Adaptive Contact Length (ACL)
ACL is the combination of Stockli’s Full Edge Contact (FEC) and Tip and Tail Rocker technologies. ACL provides a greater edge angle, which means more of the edge is in contact with the snow, for more grip and stability through the turn. The playful feel of the ski remains without needing to forgo stability.
Full Edge Contact (FEC)
The shortest distance between two points is a straight line; and a curved line is more distance. The concept applies to ski edges also—the wider the curve, the longer the ski edge. FEC construction features wider shovel dimensions (plus a wider tail on GS models) for a more pronounced sidecut producing longer edge contact length. That means faster initiation and enhanced grip through the full turn.
Light Core (LC)
Stockli’s LC is built with woods that maintain an optimal balance of low-weight, durability, and responsiveness. LC cores also offer enhanced durability and lifespan.
Solid Metal Edge Light
The same edge thickness as Stockli’s Solid Metal Edge (SME), but the edge is not as thickly built into the ski. The result is a lighter edge that is still more durable than traditional edges, helping prolong the lifespan of the ski.
Tail Rocker (TR)
Tail Rocker is a revised design of Stockli’s ski tail bend—now offering a longer bend and flatter radius than previous iterations. The increased length of the tail rocker results in a more playful feel, while the flatter radius provides enhanced grip when edging.
All Mountain Rocker
Stockli uses this profile design in their all-mountain skis to make them easier to turn with a hint of playfulness. Skis with an All Mountain Rocker are ideal for less-than-pristine pistes, heavy spring snow, and for off-piste terrain.
Tip and Tail Flex
Stockli’s Tip and Tail Flex technology features two S-shaped notches at the front and rear of the titanal, which gives the ski a slightly softer flex and more supple torsion. This enables more comfortable, effortless skiing because the ski flexes more easily and the torsion adapts to the skiing style.
